Resident Spotlight

Certain voices stand out the moment I hear them, grabbing my attention and pulling me into their dictation.  Alonzo is a man with a voice that is strong, deep, and steady.  His volume is low, his expression is subtle and his body is relaxed.  Connecting with his eyes, I recognize there is a lot of life in his soul and sitting with Alonzo for a few minutes, gives a shallow dive into the interests that fill his time and days.
A musician, song writer and singer, the depth of his writing and music abilities are headquartered in his DCT apartment.  Files and picture albums share a history of playing behind great musicians that have been on the blues charts over the decades.  Carefully placed guitars shine from their stands washed by the natural light flooding in from the bank of windows.  Assisted by friends to have an internet presence, He recently sold the lyrics and music for one of his songs to a London artist. 
Sitting behind the keyboard, the facial expression transforms into a reflection of his soul.  His fingers move lightly and nimbly over the keys, his eyes are closed and the voice joins the music bellowing out his lyrics to his song.  I feel I have found a hidden treasure and discovered a man that if luck had fallen another way would be an encounter with the famous.
Alonzo has called DCT home for 10 years.  He is grateful for this community which allows him to continue living with dignity, privacy and freedom.  He has 4 children whom remain close and check in on him regularly.  Additionally, he connects with music friends regularly through phone calls and occasionally receives a gift from those considered rich and famous.
