Free Blood Pressures Screenings
Blood
pressure screenings are offered twice a month by the Atlanta Medical
Center Community Services and Outreach Program. We know that it
is important for all of our residents to have the opportunity to
have their blood pressure monitored regularly.
Free
Cholesterol and Glucose Screenings
Cholesterol
and glucose screenings are offered every other month by Atlanta
Medical Center. This service can save a trip to the doctor and help
all residents to better monitor their health and prevent sickness.
Health
and Information Fair
Our
annual Health and Information Fair is offered every May for all
residents and community members. We invite over 40 organizations
from the community to share a variety of information related to
seniors. Exhibitors include transportation options, recreational
programs, home health care, local hospitals and health centers,
local businesses that serve our residents, and much, much more!
Free health screenings are also offered as well as many door prizes
and give-aways.
Podiatrist
We
have a podiatrist that visits our building every three months to
provide services to our residents. This is a wonderful opportunity
for those who are unable to get out regularly. They will bill Medicare
and Medicaid.
Hearing
Aid Services
Local audiologists
visit our facility bi-monthly to provide free basic hearing screenings
and consult on more extensive services to our residents.
Vision
Screenings
We
occasionally provide free vision screenings sponsored by area Medical
Center’s Community Services and Outreach Program.
AND
SO MUCH MORE…
Many
more health issues are addressed at our regular resident seminars.
Recent topics have included Heart Disease, Diabetes Education, Eye
Care and Eye Disease, Breast Cancer Awareness, Medicare Fraud and
Abuse, How to Talk to Your Doctor, Prescription Money Savers, Preventing
Falls, Safety in the Home, and many more!
